Kids Paint Europe - Participatory project for the 2014 European elections

From 22-25 May 2014, elections will be held for the European Parliament. For this reason, the children's internet site www.hanisauland.de is inviting children from all EU member states to paint a map of Europe together.

The children are to paint or draw something that they especially like about, or think is typical of, their country or city. The children's map of Europe will be put together like a mosaic from the many individual pictures, and will illustrate Europe's colourful variety.

The Hanisauland editors will collect all the pictures and put them together to form a map. The map will be published on www.hanisauland.de and the English version of it, www.hipharpigland.de, on 5 May 2014. The map will also be made available to all the website editorial teams taking part.

Conditions of participation:

  • Children aged 8-14 who live in a member state of the European Union
  • Subject of pictures: What do you particularly like about your country or your city? / What do you think is typical of your country or your city?

The pictures, in digital form, can be sent to the Hanisauland team starting from now until 11 April 2014: kidsmap@europe.bpb.de
